In a significant development, Australia have announced their squad for the first Test of the upcoming three-match series.

To Australia's misfortune, experienced speedster Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out from the squad due to a side strain. However, his bowling partner Pat Cummins, who missed the second Test versus West Indies due to a quad injury, is expected to play and is, therefore, included in the squad.

On the other hand, Scott Boland and Michael Neser, who dismantled the Caribbean men in the pink ball Test, have maintained their places in the team. Promising West Australian quick Lance Morris also continues to be a part of the 14-member squad and could make his debut anytime soon.

Here's what chief selector George Bailey said

"Pat continues to improve, bowled with freedom on Saturday and appears likely to play this match although Josh will need more time. With that in mind we have retained Michael Neser and Lance Morris in the squad for this match,

"Michael bowled superbly in Adelaide, as did Scott. We were impressed as always with their performances that backed up what they have achieved in the past. Lance is a very exciting prospect who will benefit from time with the squad."
