The Lanka Premier League 2022-23 is in full swing and witnessed a high-scoring encounter between Dambulla Aura and the Jaffna Kings on Sunday evening. Led by skipper Dasun Shanaka, Aura lost the match by 51 runs, chasing 241 to win.

Shanaka, apart from losing the encounter, was also fined for showing dissent to the on-field umpire during Aura's match against the Colombo Stars on December 8 at Hambantota.

The match referee imposed a US$3,000 fine on the Sri Lankan white-ball captain, which amounts to 40 percent of his match fee along with two demerit points.

The all-rounder has accepted all charges leveled against him, which come under Article 2.8 of the LPL Code of Conduct and will be treated as a Level 1 offense.

The Shanaka-led side are languishing at the bottom of the LPL 2022-23 table with three losses. They face table toppers Kandy Falcons tomorrow at Pallekele.
