I am still working on it, still trying to find one or two things: Anrich Nortje

South African speedster Anrich Nortje has been known for his ability to hit the deck hard at a rapid speed. After a long haul to his game due to a major injury. Nortje has been working on his form and searching for that missing ingredient in his bowling attack.

After last year's T20 World Cup, Nortje's game was hindered by an injury, and he was out of action for six months. But after a successful 2020-21 IPL campaign, but got sidelined due to a stress fracture. The South African pacer duo of Nortje and Kagiso Rabada was a valuable asset for the Delhi Capitals. But in the 2022 edition, Delhi Capitals had parted their ways with Kagiso Rabada, and Anrich Nortje wasn't up to the mark with the ball for the squad.

"I am still not there. I am still working on it, still trying to find one or two things. Body wise I am still not 100 percent, slowly building it up. I would probably rate myself from where I was at the end of IPL last year and the start of the T20 World Cup. Still trying to get there," stated Nortje.

When asked about what was missing in his bowling, he stated, "If I knew exactly what it was, I would have done it (laughs). It is going to be a minor adjustment. I generally keep it simple. I am working on something at this stage and we will see how it goes.

"It is not like it is completely out of shape. It is about small margins for me and I would like to get back to where I was," said the 28-year-old speedster.

When it comes to his injury, it gave him some valuable lessons. "It was hard (the comeback phase) because some of the stuff is limited. Some of the bowling is limited. You can't go out and bowl 8 to 9 overs every day. It has been a good challenge and will help in the future if there are any niggles or injuries going forward," he said.

Nortje had his say on Umran Malik's bowling, "Malik is a good bowler and a very fast bowler. He has shown that on the field. If he goes faster, good for him, if I go, faster good for me. It is not about bowling fast, it is about winning games."

As they have lost their third T20I after winning the first two, the Proteas are eager to seal the series with a win. The fourth one would be a do-or-die one for team India to attain the series. The fourth T20I will be played today (17th June) at Rajkot.
