T20 Blast 2022 | SOM vs GLO | Preview, Prediction, Probable XI, CREX XI

Somerset will be up against the challenge of Gloucestershire in Match 74 of T20 Blast 2022 on June 17 (Friday) at the Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton.

Somerset have five victories in seven league games and are sitting at second position in the table. However, they conceded 202 in the last league match, with Craig Overton picking three wickets. Although captain Tom Abell and Tom Smith scored 40+ runs, they lost the game by 32 runs.

The Abell-led side will be without their key players, Craig Overton and Josh Davey. Kasey Alridge, and Marchant de Lange are likely to feature in the XI. The key players for them will be Rilee Rossouw and Ben Green.

On the other hand, Gloucestershire won a thriller by four runs in their last outing. They scored 145 with the contributions of Glenn Phillips (66) and Jack Taylor (46). Then David Payne and Zak Chappel were terrific with three scalps each to help the team defend the total.

Mohammad Amir rejoined the club for the remaining matches by replacing Naseem Shah, while Chris Dent has been added to the squad as well.

David Payne will not be available due to international duties. The onus will be on Glenn Phillips and Tom Smith. With four victories in eight games, they have delivered fine performances.

Pitch Report:

The scores of 170+ have been scored in a consistent manner on this pitch, and the same is expected in this fixture as well. The fast bowlers have picked most of the wickets in the last few matches. The pitch will remain the same throughout the match, and it might be better to chase down the total at Taunton.

In a total of 30 T20 encounters between both teams, Somerset have secured victories on 16 occasions. In the last match played earlier this month, Somerset won by three wickets.
