The Asia Cup 2025 is going at full swing with eight teams competing against each other to be crowned the Asian champions. So far, nine matches have been contested, with all the teams showcasing their strengths in the Asia Cup. The Indian Premier League (IPL) sides will also be watching the tournament closely as several IPL-bound stars are also playing here.

Players from the top three most popular IPL teams - Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings, and Mumbai Indians are featuring in the Asia Cup. The IPL teams will retain some of their players before the next season, and the ongoing tournament provides a great chance for the franchises to understand which players are doing well.

In this article, we look at how the players from RCB, CSK, and MI have fared so far in the Asia Cup.

1) Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

Nuwan Thushara

Sri Lanka entered the Asia Cup as one of the favourites alongside India, and the Island Nation gave a taste of what was about to come as they defeated Hong Kong and Bangladesh in one-sided battles. All eyes were on RCB pacer Nuwan Thushara, as he came into the tournament on the back of stellar form.

However, in the two games that he has played in the Asia Cup, Thushara has been below par, picking up just 1 wicket and giving away 53 runs. Though the economy rate was good, he failed to stamp his authority as a genuine wicket-taker.

Mumbai Indians

Suryakumar, Bumrah, Hardik, Tilak, Ghazanfar

The Mumbai Indians had the most representatives in the Asia Cup, and almost all the players have done well, barring a few. The likes of Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Tilak Varma were the Indian contingents in the Asia Cup, while the likes of Allah Ghazanfar represented Afghanistan.

  • While the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and to some extent, Tilak Varma have done well, Hardik Pandya and Allah Ghazanfar have failed to deliver the goods.

3) Chennai Super Kings

Shivam Dube, Matheesha Pathirana, Noor Ahmad

CSK had three representatives in the Asia Cup, and two of them have done well for their country, while Matheesha Pathirana has failed in the games for Sri Lanka.

  • Barring Matheesha Pathirana, the other two CSK players have done well, especially Shivam Dube, who has excelled with the ball and maintains an economy of just 2 in the Asia Cup. Pathirana has been disappointing, as he has been unable to pick up a single wicket in the tournament.
