On Sunday evening, India defeated West Indies in a one-sided contest to win the final and lift the inaugural International Masters League. Batting first, West Indies Masters powered themselves to a slightly under-par 148-run total, which the India Masters chased down successfully, riding on a superb collective effort by their batters.
IML 2025 Prize Money Revealed
After defeating West Indies and winning the International Masters League, India Masters received a whopping amount as a cash prize. According to NDTV Sports, the Sachin Tendulkar-led side got INR 1 Crore, while Brian Lara's West Indies Masters received INR 50 Lakhs for finishing the tournament as runners-up.
Opener Ambati Rayudu, who struck a belligerent fifty in the final, received 1.5 lakh rupees along with the Player of the Match, Masterstroke of the Match and most sixes in the match awards. Meanwhile, legendary Australian all-rounder Shane Watson was rewarded INR 5 lakhs for hitting the most number of sixes in the tournament (25).
Former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara also got a lucrative cash prize worth INR 5 lakhs for hitting the most number of boundaries in the season (38).
IML 2025 Final: As it happened
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, West Indies Masters suffered regular setbacks, losing key wickets at frequent intervals. As a result, they ended up scoring 148 runs in 20 overs.
In response, India Masters had a fabulous start to their innings, with Sachin Tendulkar and Ambati Rayudu adding 67 runs for the first wicket. Although the openers got out, the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan and Stuart Binny played vital cameos, ensuring they went past the finish line.
