'He Is Ready...': CSK CEO Confirms MS Dhoni's Participation In IPL 2025

The CSK CEO Kasi Viswanthan has confirmed that MS Dhoni will be taking part in the next edition of the Indian Premier League. The India legend earlier stated that he would like to enjoy the last few years of his career. Now the air being cleared, the CSK management does not see any more objections about including the former captain in their plans for the next edition.
As quoted by Cricbuzz, the CSK CEO has stated that - 'When he (MS Dhoni) is ready, what else we want. We are happy'. This was stated by the Viswanathan when asked about whether the franchise is ready to include the Indian legend as a part of their plan for their next edition.
Earlier in a social interaction MS Dhoni was heard talking about his plans for IPL 2025. When the host asked World Cup winning captain about whether he will play the next tournament, he replied - 'I just watned to enjoy whatever last few years of cricket I am able to play. When you play cricket like a professional sport, it becomes difficult to enjoy it just like a game. That's what I want to do. It's not easy.'
MS Dhoni to be retained as an uncapped player
Notably, the last date to submit the retention list is 31st October. With MSD's intentions clear, he is expected to be a retained for INR 4 Cr as an uncapped player.
This statement by MS Dhoni gave away the fact that he is ready participate in the next edition of the tournament. With MSD now confirmed to play, here is how the retention list of CSK might look. Ravindra Jadeja will reportedly be their number one retention, followed by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Matheesha Pathirana as number two and number three. Among Shivam Dube, Devon Conway and Sameer Rizvi, two should be retained.
