In a commendable and patriotic gesture, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has announced that it will provide free entry to the families of Indian armed forces personnel on Republic Day during the upcoming India vs England Test match.

India are scheduled to host England in a five-game Test series starting on 25th January. The series' inaugural game is set to take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Moreover, viewing the overlapping of Republic Day, the Hyderabad Cricket Association, led by former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, has decided to offer free entries to families of Indian armed forces for that given day.

That being said, the decision to offer free entry to the families is a poignant way of recognising and expressing gratitude to the men and women who safeguard the country.

Republic Day holds immense significance in India, and associating it with a cricket match adds a special layer of celebration and unity.

Families of armed forces personnel often endure separation and anxiety due to the demanding nature of the job. The HCA's gesture acknowledges their sacrifices and provides an opportunity for them to enjoy a day of entertainment and camaraderie at the cricket stadium.

Besides, HCA has also decided to give free entry to kids from government schools in Telangana, along with free lunch for the entirety of the first Test match.

That being said, the anticipation around the upcoming Test series between India and England has reached its peak. The hosts have been unbeaten on home soil in recent history.

On the flip side, England is riding on remarkable success owing to the unconventional 'Bazball' approach.

However, thriving in spin-friendly conditions has never been the Englishmen's forte. Thus, they are bound to struggle, to say the least.

Meanwhile, for the Indian side, the extended red ball series serves as a chance to solidify its position on the World Test championship rankings.
