According to emerging reports, ace speedster Josh Hazlewood is all set to make his Test return for the all-important World Test Championship final against South Africa. Led by Pat Cummins, Australia will take on South Africa in the WTC 2025 final, which will be played at Lord's between June 11 to 15.

Josh Hazlewood To Make Test Comeback For WTC Final

Veteran Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood recently missed plenty of action due to multiple injury setbacks of late. After getting sidelined from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Hazlewood found himself out of Australia's Champions Trophy squad due to recurring calf and side strains.

Furthermore, a shoulder injury ruled him out of a few IPL 2025 matches before the pacer made a comeback for the tournament playoffs. Considering his proneness to injury, Hazlewood's participation in the WTC final was doubtful, with Australia sweating over his fitness and considering roping in Scott Boland, who has been the former's long-time alternative in Test cricket.

However, as reported by ESPNCricinfo, Hazlewood showcased remarkable fitness during Australia's recent training sessions. The fast bowler sent down as many as fifteen overs with the red cherry across three spells, exhibiting his readiness for the WTC final, starting this Wednesday.

Thus, he seems the frontrunner to spearhead the Australian bowling attack with skipper Pat Cummins and veteran cricketers, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon.

Green, Labuschagne To Form Australian Top Order With Usman Khawaja

The report also claims that the Australian think tank could ignore inexperienced batter Sam Konstas for the high-stakes match. The gritty duo of Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja might open, with Cameron Green likely to bat at number three following his County Championship heroics for Gloucestershire.
