Following India's historic victory in the Women's Cricket World Cup, captain Harmanpreet Kaur is set to receive a special honour from the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) as elaborated by the India Women skipper in an event hosted on the eve of November 28.
The association plans to name a stadium stand after her in recognition of her leadership at Mullanpur's Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium. Notably, under Kaur, the Indian team broke a long-standing barrier by winning their first-ever ICC title in women's cricket, creating a landmark moment for the sport in the country.

Harmanpreet Kaur has joined the elite group of Indian World Cup-winning captains, which includes Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma.
She was also honoured with the ‘Champion of the World’ award at the recent ceremony. When asked if she would like a stand named after her, similar to the one for Mithali Raj, Kaur happily shared the news.
“I have already received a letter from PCA saying that they will soon unveil a stand after me at Mullanpur" Harmanpreet said with a grin.
Harmanpreet further shared her feelings on lifting the title, saying, “Lifting the World Cup was a dream we cherished since childhood.”
Kaur acknowledges after World Cup win
Kaur also thanked BCCI and Jay Shah for their support, highlighting that “the pay parity and the Women’s Premier League initiatives have been immensely helpful."
The Indian team's path to the World Cup was built on strong performances, including a first-ever T20I series win in England.
Their World Cup campaign had its challenges with three close losses, but the team fought back brilliantly, with Jemimah Rodrigues fighting a battle in the semi-final against Australia to seal a place in the Finals.
The Final was also closely fought and saw India beat South Africa to lift the title in a historic feat.
