Pakistan have made a last minute change in their ODI squad Vs New Zealand as the tearaway pacer, Haris Rauf has reportedly been added in the team. As per senior Pakistan journalist, Sohail Imran, the selectors at the last minute decided to draft in Rauf in the team as the side lacks a quality pacer to trouble the Kiwis.
When the original squad came out for the ODIs Vs New Zealand, Rauf, alongside Shaheen Afridi were dropped, but after a stellar outing in the T20I series, the selectors changed their mind and Rauf was included in the team.
Rauf impresses selectors with impressive showing
After getting dropped from the ODIs, Rauf had the 5 T20I matches vs the Kiwis to impress the selectors and he did just that. When all the other bowlers had a horrendous showing, Rauf took wickets at every phase of the game.
In 3 matches, he picked up 8 wickets, and never allowed the opposition to run away with the contest as he bowled with pace and troubled the Black Caps in every game. As a result, the selectors reversed their call and included him in the ODI setup.
Usman Khan as backup keeper
The talented player, Usman Khan will be the backup keeper in the squad to captain, Mohammad Rizwan. The dashing batter travelled with the team in the Champions Trophy but didn't get a game.
Similarly, he warmed the bench during the T20Is Vs New Zealand and was only given a chance during the dead rubber 5th T20I.
