In an interesting move, Rajasthan Royals have made use of their impact player and have brought in Devdutt Padikkal in place of leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the ongoing game between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans.
It wasn't Chahal's best performance with the ball, as the wily leg spinner conceded 36 runs in 4 overs, but did manage to pick up a solitary wicket of Hardik Pandya.
With Rajasthan Royals chasing in this match, it was pretty evident that Padikkal would be used as an impact player.
In the last IPL match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Padikkal played a great hand, contributing 38 off 26 deliveries, and that would have given the youngster loads of confidence heading into this clash.
Talking about the match, GT have recovered from the early jolt and are marching towards a respectable total.
Shubman Gill (45), Hardik Pandya (28) made useful contributions and David Miller and Abhinav Manohar have provided the perfect late flourish as GT threaten to run away with the game.
At the time of writing, GT are 160 for 4.
