Sai Sudharsan undergoes a surgery (Source:@CricCrazyJohns/X.com)
Sai Sudharsan is one of the rising young stars in Indian cricket and in the last couple of years, he has scored runs across formats. However, he has now revealed on his social media handle that he has successfully undergone Sports Hernia Surgery and is likely to miss the Vijay Hazare Trophy that will be played from December 21 to January 18.
The southpaw has played a T20I and three ODIs for India, and has started his international career on a positive note with two fifties in 50-over format. He plays for GT in IPL and has a fantastic average of 47 and a strike rate close to 140 which prompted the 2022 IPL champions to retain him for 8.50 Crore ahead of mega auction for IPL 2025.
Sai Sudharsan Likely To Be Ready For IPL 2025
Sai Sudharsan also recently displayed his talent in red-ball format and on a difficult A tour of Australia, he was one of the two centurions for the visitors. The injury and now the recovery time after the surgery is surely a setback in his progression but with age on his side, he looks set to play for India across formats in the next year or so.
The Tamil Nadu lad's List A average is over 60 while his first-class record is quite good with seven hundreds and five fifties in 28 first-class matches. He also notched up his maiden double century in first-class cricket in October against Delhi and would be hoping that he gets fit soon and sizzles with consistet performances again. He is expected to be fit for IPL 2025 that is scheduled to start in March and is likely to take the important number 3 position for Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans.
