The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the full schedule for the 2025–27 cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC). After South Africa lifted the 2023–25 WTC title with a thrilling five-wicket win over Australia at Lord’s, the fourth edition of the championship is set to begin.
The new cycle begins on June 17, 2025, with Sri Lanka hosting Bangladesh at Galle. Over the next two years, nine Test-playing nations will participate in 27 bilateral series comprising a total of 71 matches.
South Africa Begin Title Defense
Fresh off their maiden WTC title win, South Africa begins the new cycle aiming to defend their crown. Their campaign spans 14 matches.

Australia To Play Most Matches
Australia, the 2023–25 runners-up, will feature in 22 matches, the most among all teams. Their schedule includes:

India Enter A New Era Under Shubman Gill
Two-time finalists India are set for 18 matches in the new cycle. The team begins a fresh chapter under new captain Shubman Gill, with their campaign starting at Headingley on June 20 against England in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
