Fans in Colombo are in for a treat as entry has been made free of charge for the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan Women's ODI World Cup clash at the R. Premadasa Stadium today on October 5, 2025. It is also important to note that Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that gates will open at 1 PM local time for all matches in the tournament hosted in Sri Lanka.
It would not be wrong to say that this free access initiative is expected to draw large crowds for this highly-awaited clash.
Fans to witness IND vs PAK Women's World Cup clash for free
It can also be expected that this match will see a huge crowd from both India and Pakistan as similar visuals were seen during the recently concluded Men's Asia Cup 2025. Another factor that will be interesting to see is whether the same handshake row will continue between India Women and Pakistan Women.
It is important to note that BCCI has instructed Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. to continue with the same 'No-Handshake' trend that was seen in the Asia Cup 2025.
The match, however, could face an unwanted interruption from the skies. Colombo has seen heavy rain in recent days, and similar weather can be expected during the India-Pakistan clash.
Neutral venue agreement in play
Though India is the primary host of this year’s World Cup, all of Pakistan’s matches are being held in Colombo due to the ongoing agreement between the BCCI and PCB to play at neutral venues in multi-nation events until 2027. As a result, five of Pakistan’s seven group matches will be hosted at the R. Premadasa Stadium, with the remaining two in India.
The Women’s World Cup 2025, which began in Guwahati on September 30, features eight teams competing in a round-robin format.
India Women have started the tournament on a high note with a 59-run win (DLS method) against Sri Lanka. On the other side, Pakistan have faced a massive defeat (7 wickets) against Bangladesh Women in their first match of the tournament.
