Former India Pacer David Johnson Passes Away After Falling From Balcony; Police Suspect Suicide

In an unexpected turn of events, India's pacer, David Johnson, has passed away untimely following a sudden tragic incident. The 52-year-old passed away at his home in Bengaluru on Thursday after falling from his balcony, and is survived by his wife and two children.
Despite his brief tenure, David Jude Johnson made a significant impact on the Indian cricket team. His valuable contributions during the two Tests he played in 1996, where he took three wickets, will always be remembered.

Following the mishap, a police official started the investigation and revealed that:
"It is believed that 52-year-old David Jude Johnson fell from his Apartment in Kanaka Sri Layout in Kothanur giving rise to the suspicion of suicide. None of his family members have raised any suspicion. It was a "self fall" and there is no eyewitness to the incident," a senior police officer said.
Johnson, who was running a cricket academy, was also the part of a strong Karnataka bowling unit that included Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad, and Dodda Ganesh.
Kumble also posted a tweet for his beloved friend 'Benny' and wrote: "Gone too soon “ Benny”!

Talking about his international career, he made his Test debut for India against Australia in a one-off Test in 1996. Following which, he was also a part of India's squad for Tour of South Africa; where he claimed the wickets of Herschelle Gibbs and Brian McMillan.

His stellar domestic cricketing career had numerous achievements to its name. From his 39 First-Class matches, he scalped impressive 125 wickets. A notable milestone of his career included four five-wicket hauls and a remarkable ten-wicket haul in a single match.
