Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis completed yet another milestone in his glittering career as he notched up his 3500th run in IPL cricket against the Lucknow Super Giants on Monday evening.

Du Plessis brought his 3500th run in the lucrative T20 league during the 1st over of RCB's innings off seamer Jaydev Unadkat.

By doing so, the former Chennai Super Kings cricketer has become the 18th batter to cross the 3500 mark in the history of the Indian Premier League.

The multiple IPL winner made his debut during the 2012 season, and has since then gone on to feature in 119 games, in which he has scored 3512 runs at an average of 34.77 and a strike rate of 131.38 with the help of 26 50-plus scores.

Du Plessis was an integral part of the Super Kings" line-up that won the IPL titles in 2018 and 2021. While in 2018, he played a sensational knock in the Playoffs to help CSK qualify for the finals, three years later, he scored 600+ runs, and along with Ruturaj Gaikwad formed a title-winning opening pair.

Faf was appointed captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the 2022 season, and he led the franchise to the Qualifiers in his debut season at the helm.

Du Plessis has looked in imperious touch in the ongoing season, and RCB fans will hope he continues the same throughout the campaign.
