The England Cricket Board (ECB) has refused to host the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 playoffs due to the unavailability of the grounds.

PSL 2025 is set to collide with IPL during April-May next year. PSL usually takes place in the month of February, however, due to the Champions Trophy taking place in February, Pakistan had no option but to schedule the league as the same time as IPL.

The PCB higher authorities considered relocating the PSL playoffs to a different nation, mainly in England, but as per latest reports, the ECB has rejected the idea.

PCB fear that key players will choose IPL over PSL due to higher salaries, and the viewership of the playoffs will decline, if the matches take place during the same time. Hence, with the 5 hours of time difference between Pakistan and England, PCB wanted to protect the PSL viewership.

Reports added that with England out of consideration, PCB are hoping to take the league to UAE. However, the excessive heat during the period of April-May has raised few issues.

Talking about Pakistan National Team, they are set to play two-match Test series against Bangladesh, starting August 21. They will then play three Test matches against the visiting Indian team, and visit Australia for 3 T20Is and as many ODIs in November.
