Harry Brook, Ashleigh Gardner named ICC Player of the Month for December

ICC have announced the men's and women's Player of the Month for December 2022. England star, Harry Brook has been rewarded for his stellar series against Pakistan, wherein he slammed three centuries.

He made an instant impact and as a result has been named the Men's Player of the Month for December. Short-listed alongside Babar Azam and Travis Head, Brook was head and shoulders above all after an incredible tour of Pakistan.

The 23-year-old finished as the highest getter of the Test series, with 468 runs in three matches and helped his side complete a series white-wash over Pakistan. He slotted seamlessly in the middle order in the absence of Jonny Bairstow and played at a strike-rate of 93.41.

Despite playing just a solitary Test match before arriving in Pakistan, the England youngster showed his class and starred in England's Bazball approach.

Meanwhile, Australia's Ashleigh Gardner has scooped the award for the women's Player of the Month for December. It was a landmark month for the all-rounder as he topped the ICC ratings chart and finished as the number one all-rounder.

She had a terrific 2022 and capped it off with a stellar December, wherein she scored 115 runs, at an astonishing strike-rate of 166.66, claiming seven wickets in the process as well.

Gardner saw off the competition from Suzie Bates and Charlie Dean to win her first Player of the Month Award.
