Pakistan have jumped to the second place in the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League points table after defeating New Zealand comprehensively in the first ODI on Monday.

New Zealand batted first and posted a decent 255 on the board, which was chased with relative ease by the Pakistan side, thanks to half-centuries from Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam.

The win helped Pakistan gain 10 points in the Super League points table. The Asian side now have 130 points in 19 matches, and still have five matches remaining in the tournament.

Courtesy of their defeat in the series opener, New Zealand have dropped from second to third in the points table. Interestingly, both Pakistan and New Zealand have same points (130), but Pakistan have won one match more than the Kiwis.

Talking about the other teams, India remain on top of the table, with 139 points. However, if Pakistan win their remaining two games, they'll go over India in the points tally.

On the other hand, if the Black Caps win the remaining two games, they'll jump over both Pakistan and India to attain the top spot.
