With some of the best fast-bowling talents in the world, England's cricket team is turning out to be pace-factory in the cricketing ecosystem. While the stalwarts namely James Anderson and Stuart Broad have been phenomenal for them in the past and continue to do so, the youngsters are not far behind as they prepare to take the world by storm with the likes of Jofra Archer, Ollie Robinson and Mark Wood.

On these lines, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has disclosed the signing of Neil Killeen as their elite pace bowling coach replacing Jon Lewis, who now serves as the head coach of the country's women's side.

Killeen will be tasked to manage the future and upcoming talents mainly through their development programs. Previously, he was hired on an interim basis as the bowling coach of England during their ODI tour to the Netherlands.

The former Durham player has represented the club in over 350 matches while being the highest wicket-taker in the List A format. Further, he was also overseeing the club last season for a few matches during the domestic season and has been involved with coaching since 2010.

What Neil Killeen said on his appointment

“I’m delighted to be appointed Elite Pace Bowling Coach with the ECB and can’t wait to get started with a new challenge. It’s an exciting time to be joining the ECB, as there is a wealth of fast-bowling talent and coaching around the country that I’m looking forward to working with in order to maintain England’s strong contingent of pace bowlers in the future."

England's next assignment will be against South Africa in a three-match ODI series that will begin on 27th January.
