BBL|12: Unbeaten fifties from Inglis, Hardie help Perth bag a win vs Heat

Unbeaten sixties from Josh Inglis and Aaron Hardie came as a vanilla scoop on a chocolate icecream cone after Jason Behrendorff's shimmering three-wicket haul as Perth Scorchers bagged a victory over Brisbane Heat by 8 wickets.

Inglis scored an unbeaten 67 off 35 deliveries, and he was well partnered by Hardie's 65. They ended the chase with a 127-run partnership. However, while chasing a total of 156 runs, the Scorchers didn’t have the best of starts.

They lost Cameron Bancroft on 6 and Stephen Eskinazi’s scratchy knock of 11 came to an end during the powerplay. But to their rescue, Hardie started off playing beautifully from one end, while Inglis aided as they did the recovery work for the Scorchers in the middle overs.

Both batters got to their fifties and they didn't allow the required run rate to pile as they were clearing the field easily. The duo put on an unbeaten 132-run stand off 78 balls and steered the Scorchers to the win in just 16.2 overs.

The Jason Behrendorff Show

Earlier in the game, Scorchers won the toss and invited Brisbane Heat to bat first. Brisbane Heat were off to a flying start. Skipper Usman Khawaja and Josh Brown came with all guns blazing.

Although, to Heat's flying start, Behrendorff had all the answers in his moving white cherry. The left-armer took three of the top-four batters in his spell as they didn't let any breathing space for Brisbane.

The other Scorchers also didn't let the grip loosen, resulting in no Heat batter getting a handy time with the bat in hand.

With this spell of 3 for 21, Scorchers' pace spearhead has attained the milestone of grabbing 100 wickets in the Big Bash League

With this win, Perth have topped the table in the points table, with seven victories after nine clashes this season.
