  • Eng Vs Ind 3Rd Odi We Are Excited About The Game Says Sky In The Pre Match Presser

ENG vs IND | 3rd ODI | 'We are excited about the game', says SKY in the pre-match presser

The stylish Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav has revealed that the mood in the tourists' camp is quite relaxed despite their crushing 100-run defeat in the Lord's ODI.

Rohit Sharma-led India’s horrible outing in the 2nd ODI

Chasing 247, the Indians were eventually bowled out for 146 to set up a series-decider in Manchester.

Speaking to the media ahead of the all-important fixture, Yadav said that the team is not thinking much about the last game and is looking forward to playing on what he described as a 'beautiful ground and wicket'.

"We are not thinking too much about the game. The T20I series concluded, and we won. We are excited for the 3rd ODI. It's a beautiful ground and wicket as well. We will play our best," Suryakumar said.

'You get motivation from the applause to do well"- Suryakumar Yadav

Surya was in his element during the final T20I at Trent Bridge last week as he smashed his maiden international ton to become just the fifth Indian to register a three-figure score in the shortest format.

The stylish batsman painted the iconic venue with his 360-degree strokeplay, hammering a whirlwind 55-ball 117 to take his side to the brink of an unlikely win.

He eventually fell short of the target but was greeted with a standing ovation from a capacity crowd.

"You get motivation from the applause to do well. As I said that I scored 100, and it was special for me. And at the same time, we had an opportunity to win. When people praise you for your achievements, you get a motivation to do well", the 31-year-old concluded.

Don't think there is a competition with anyone: Mohammad Amir

Left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir believes that it's futile to compare him with any former or current crop of Pakistani bowlers as his skills are unrivalled. Amir was one of the hottest young talents when he burst on the scene back in late 2000s. Blessed with a smooth action and the ability to move the ball both ways at searing pace, the seamer was destined for greatness. However, he fell off the cliff in August 2010 due to his involvement in the infamous spot-fixing scandal, alongside then skipper Salman Butt and pacer Mohammad Asif. Amir was handed a 5-year ban and while he dished out some memorable performances following his return in 2016, he looked a pale shadow of his former self. He responded by saying that there was no competition. "I don't think there is a competition of myself with anyone. I was the only bowler who was in the ICC rankings. Even when I was dropped after the World Cup, I was still in the rankings for a good year and a half," said Amir as quoted by Cricket Pakistan. Amir was eventually dropped from the set-up following his decision to retire from Test cricket in 2019. The pacer then shocked everyone by announcing his abrupt retirement from all formats of the game a year later. 'I am the only one in my class'- Mohammad Amir With Shaheen Afridi spearheading the bowling attack in all formats, Pakistan cricket has moved on from Amir but the 30-year-old still believes that he is a class apart from the rest. "The skills that I have don't compare to anyone along with my mindset. I don't think there are any comparisons because everyone has a different class and I am the only one in my class," he added. Amir represented Pakistan in 36 Tests, 61 ODIs and 50 T20Is, claiming 119, 81 and 59 wickets, respectively. His last international outing came in a T20I against England in 2020.
