According to emerging reports, the upcoming IPL 2025 encounter between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) has been shifted from Dharamsala to Mumbai amid the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan. Although the BCCI has yet to release an official statement on the matter, reliable media agency News18 has claimed that the much-anticipated clash has been moved out of Dharamsala.

Why Has MI vs PBKS Match Been Rescheduled?

For the unversed, the Indian Army conducted an retaliatory air strike, targeting multiple active terrorist bases on Pakistani soil. The surgical strike, named "Operation Sindoor", infuriated Pakistan, creating a war-like situation along the India-Pakistan border.

Following the historic airstrike, India shut down its multiple airports, including that in Dharamsala. As the airports will remain closed at least until 5.30 PM of 10th May, it's improbable for Mumbai Indians to travel to the city for their clash against PBKS on the very next day.

Therefore, as per the report, the high-octane affair has been shifted to Mumbai, and it will be played at either the DY Patil ground or the Brabourne Stadium

The BCCI is also in talks with the Indian Government regarding the potential rescheduling of the DC vs PBKS match at the same venue. The primary motive behind such a move is to ensure safety for civilians during a possible war-like situation.

BCCI Official Issues Statement On IPL's Future

Meanwhile, a certain BCCI official has confirmed that the IPL 2025 will be continued as scheduled unless the Indian government orders the cricketing body to suspend it. However, with some IPL 2025 venues situated in close proximity to Pakistan, the tournament could possibly witness rescheduling of several upcoming fixtures.
