Lucknow Super Giants’ rising star Digvesh Rathi has been grabbing headlines all season, not just for his brilliant bowling, but also for his dramatic wicket celebrations. The 25-year-old leg-spinner, playing in his first IPL season, is LSG’s top wicket-taker and has become known for his viral “notebook” celebration.

But ahead of the team’s final match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Rathi made it clear, he won’t use the celebration if he gets Virat Kohli out.

As the LSG vs RCB match approaches, fans were eager to know who might be Rathi’s next target. When someone from the crowd shouted “Virat Kohli,” Rathi just smiled and shook his head, hinting that he wouldn’t celebrate in the same way if he gets Kohli out.

It was a subtle but respectful gesture toward one of the game’s legends.

What Is the “Notebook” Celebration?

After taking a wicket, Rathi acts like he’s crossing out a name from an invisible notebook. This signature move has split fans down the middle, some see it as fun and intense, while others think it’s a bit too much. The IPL match referees seem to agree with the latter. The celebration has landed Rathi in trouble multiple times, costing him match fees and even leading to a one-match suspension.

So far, Rathi has been fined over ₹9 lakh, almost a third of his IPL salary and missed a match against Gujarat Titans. He got into trouble for his over-the-top send-offs, especially after dismissing players like Abhishek Sharma (Sunrisers Hyderabad), Priyansh Arya (Punjab Kings), and Naman Dhir (Mumbai Indians).

While Rathi has been a standout player, the same can’t be said for LSG as a whole. Despite having big names and strong potential, the team couldn’t make it to the playoffs this year due to injuries and inconsistent performances.
