Desert Vipers snap Alex Hales, Wanindu Hasaranga and Sam Billings for ILT20 2023

Lance Capital-owned Desert Vipers have announced their overseas players for the inaugural season of the International League T20 (ILT20). 

Vipers have secured the services of experienced campaigners like Alex Hales, Wanindu Hasaranga and Sam Billings for the tournament slated to be played in January-February next year. 

Other players in the latest signing are Colin Munro, Ben Duckett, Tom Curran, Sheldon Cottrell, Azam Khan, Sherfane Rutherford, Benny Howell, Sandeep Lamichhane, Ruben Trumplemann and Saqib Mahmood. 

Tom Moody and James Foster will don the role of director of cricket and head coach respectively. Moody has the experience of coaching different IPL teams since the last decade while Foster is currently the head coach of the Northern Superchargers in the Men's Hundred.

"We have assembled an excellent mix of youth and experience in a highly skilled squad and I warmly welcome our players from all over the world in what is truly an international event," said Moody. 


Recent Performances of Key players of Desert Vipers

Alex Hales: 

The top-order batter breached the milestone of 10,000 T20 runs in this month. In five games of the ongoing Men's Hundred competition, Hales has slammed 199 runs. 

Wanindu Hasaranga: 

The recent domestic List-A tournament witnessed Hasaranga picking 10 wickets in four appearances. On the other hand, he took three wickets in four T20 games. 

Ben Duckett

The southpaw has garnered 97 runs in four innings in the ongoing Hundred competition. He was also prolific for England Lions with a contribution of 145. 

Sam Billings

The experienced keeper-batter has been able to accumulate only 23 runs in four games of the Hundred 2022. However, he hit 92 for England Lions in a red-ball practice match against South Africa.
