Chennai Super Kings (CSK)' is facing Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a home encounter in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) on Tuesday.

Ahead of the IPL clash, Chennai's bowling coach and two-time Purple Cap holder, Dwayne Bravo pointed out what bowlers are struggling with in T20 cricket, saying that they don't trust their abilities to bowl yorkers.

As someone who had a great reputation as a T20 specialist, especially for his death bowling, Bravo has also advised the young bowlers to bowl 12-14 yorkers in every training session and it will work wonders for them. He has implemented this in CSK's training routine as well.

"One of the main reasons why bowlers struggle in T20s is that they don't trust their ability to bowl Yorkers so what we do in CSK is that each bowler has to bowl 12-14 Yorkers in each training session," said Bravo.

The Caribbean great also listed the examples of himself, Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah and Matheesha Pathirana of the recent crop who have been very consistent with nailing yorkers in the death overs.

DJ Bravo, with his prowess in the death, has won two purple caps with CSK with his pinpoint yorkers and deceiving slower one.

The first purple cap came in 2013 where he scalped 32 wickets, which till date is the highest number of wickets taken by a bowler in an IPL season.

This record was equaled by Harshal Patel in 2021 with RCB. The other purple cap for Bravo came in 2015 with 26 wickets to his name.

Meanwhile, thus far in IPL 2024, two of CSK bowlers - Pathirana and Mustafizur Rahman - are doing exceeding well under Bravo's guidance, but the side is struggling to find a bit assistance from their Indian counterparts.
