AB de Villiers Suggests MS Dhoni To Come Up The Batting-Order In CSK Vs LSG

In Match No.39 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is locking horns against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday evening.

Ahead of the IPL 2024, MS Dhoni handed over his captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad and is enjoying with CSK as this could be the last season for the legendary cricketer. 

He is entertaining the crowd on several occasions with classical finishing cameos from the former CSK captain. His ambiguous presence on the field has left fans captivated in the tournament.

In a video released by AB de Villiers, he expressed himself and stated that MS Dhoni should bat up the order as he is in incredible form in the ongoing IPL and fans want to see more of his batting. 

"I understand that he is a guy who is not playing a lot of cricket these days. He comes in, prepares for the IPL and that's all he plays. Maybe him batting down the order has come from himself, thinking like he's not in such great form. Maybe the younger guys who play 12 months of the year deserve a chance to bat up the order but with stats like these, it's very difficult for me to agree with that," ABD on his YouTube channel said. 

De Villiers also concluded by stating that batting at this lower order may be his own decision as he is not playing regular cricket and wants the youngsters to play up the order and get proper chances and opportunities. 

The 42-year-old cricketer has been in exhilarating form for the Chennai Super Kings, having played a number of cameos lower down the order. He has been at his very best with the bat and has shown no signs of awkwardness and slowness this year. 

MS Dhoni is yet to be dismissed in the cash-rich league and has smashed 87 runs in 7 matches with a strike rate of 255.88.
