CSK vs RR: Ravi Ashwin on the Brink of a Path-Breaking Record in T20s

Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the greatest off-spinners to play for India and his record over the last decade has been a one to cherish for every Indian. The man has been a pillar of Indian cricket especially in red-ball format and has 474 wickets to his name. However, he is not behind in the shortest format of the game and has been a match-winner with his all-round skills in T20s as well.
He has played T20 cricket for a variety of franchises in IPL along with playing a big role in T20 World Cups for India. Now, on the eve of the CSK-RR game at Chepauk, Ravi Ashwin, the homeboy will play his 300th T20 game - a record that speaks volume of his longevity and quality. Interestingly, he will be playing for RR against CSK - A team for whom he has delivered plenty of match-winning performances in the IPL.
The last time RR met CSK in the IPL, it was Ashwin who took RR over the line with an all-round performance. He took 1 wicket by giving 28 runs in four overs and then backed it up with an unbeaten 40 off just 23 balls to finish off a tense chase. Let’s see how he goes about his business in the 300th game, against his very own CSK at the Chepauk Stadium.
