The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the most coveted T20 tournament in the world, and all the world-famous cricketers come to India to participate in the cash-rich league. What started as an 8-team tournament went up to 10 teams, as two new sides - Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants were introduced in 2022.
With ten teams participating in the league, the competition has increased, and this decade has witnessed 5 different IPL champions in six seasons. In this article, we have jotted down the IPL squads with most wins in this decade, and surprisingly, CSK doesn’t make the top five.
IPL Teams with most wins in this decade (2020-till now)
Teams | Matches | Wins | Losses |
RCB | 90 | 50 | 40 |
DC | 89 | 45 | 43 |
KKR | 87 | 44 | 41 |
MI | 90 | 44 | 46 |
CSK | 88 | 42 | 45 |
RR | 89 | 41 | 47 |
PBKS | 87 | 40 | 46 |
GT | 60 | 37 | 23 |
SRH | 88 | 36 | 51 |
LSG | 58 | 30 | 27 |
- RCB, the defending IPL champions, sit at the top of the table with 50 wins in 90 matches. The Red Army has been the most consistent side in this decade, having qualified for the playoffs on multiple occasions (2020, 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025).
- Surprisingly, Delhi Capitals, who are yet to taste the IPL success, sit at the second position, with 45 wins in 89 matches. The team reached the finale in 2020, and since then have had mixed fortunes in the league.
- The IPL 2024 champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, occupy the third spot, and the Mumbai Indians, who won the league in 2020, sit at the fourth position. Since 2020, MI have also not tasted success in the league, and have lost the consistency they were once known for.
- The biggest surprise came in the form of Chennai Super Kings, the five-time IPL champions. The Yellow Army won the league twice in this decade (2021, 2023), and yet, they sit outside the top four, mainly due to their poor seasons in 2022, 2024, and 2025. The team has only won 42 out of the 88 matches played.
- RR and PBKS occupy the sixth and seventh spots; meanwhile, Gujarat Titans, who started their IPL journey in 2022, are at the eighth position (having played fewer games than others.
- Just like GT, LSG, too, have played fewer games than others, and they are at the bottom of the table. But the biggest surprise was Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have only won 36 out of 88 matches and sit in the ninth position.
