The International Cricket Council (ICC) is seriously looking at avenues to include Cricket in the Youth Olympics of 2030. Recently, the Government of India expressed interest in hosting the 2030 edition of Youth Olympics and that has raised hopes of cricket being included in the games after the major breakthrough of the 2028 LA Olympics.

The ICC's General Manager of Development has responded pretty positively to the email by Vivek Gopalan who has argued that cricket deserves a place in the games as all other big sports are part of the event, and including cricket will increase the grassroot presence of the game globally.

India Keen To Host 2030 Youth Olympics

It has also been argued that with with India being the powerhouse of cricket, the 2030 edition is apt for cricket to make its entry. It has also been mentioned that it would not be a difficult task to convince International Olympic Committee (IOC) for ICC as the apex Olympic body has now recognised the importance of cricket and the value it will bring to the Olympic games.

The Youth Olympic Games has the age limit from 15 to 18, and if India does get the hosting rights, Cricket too would be a hot prospect to make its maiden entry in the 2030 edition.
