India's cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar recently met with rising shooting star Manu Bhaker, creating a moment of inspiration for sports enthusiasts across the nation. 

Manu Bhaker, who made headlines with her outstanding performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics, brought home two bronze medals, making her the first Indian (post-independence) to achieve such a feat in a single edition of the Summer Games.

The 22-year-old shooter, who captured the nation’s attention with her skill and determination, shared her excitement after meeting Sachin Tendulkar. In a heartfelt post, she expressed her admiration for the cricket icon, highlighting how his journey had motivated her to pursue her dreams relentlessly. 

“The one and only Sachin Tendulkar sir!” Bhaker exclaimed as she posed with the legendary cricketer, proudly displaying her Olympic medals. 

She further added, “Feeling blessed to share this special moment with the cricketing icon! His journey motivated me and many of us to chase our dreams. Thank you, sir, for unforgettable memories!”

Manu Bhaker Dreamed of Meeting Sporting Legends

Manu Bhaker had long expressed her desire to spend time with sports legends, including Sachin Tendulkar. In a previous interview, she mentioned her wish to meet icons like Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Usain Bolt. 

She revealed how deeply inspired she was by these athletes, particularly Usain Bolt, whose autobiography she had read multiple times. “It would be an honour to spend even an hour with any of them!” she had told Cosmopolitan.

Manu Bhaker’s Historic Olympic Achievement

Manu Bhaker’s exceptional performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics ended India’s 12-year wait for an Olympic medal in shooting. 

Her bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, followed by another bronze in the 25m pistol event, has solidified her status as one of India’s greatest sportspersons.
