On Friday, August 9, Cricket Australia released the squad of their Under-19 side for the upcoming India U-19 men's tour starting in September. Australia U-19 will tour India U-19 for three-match fifty-over games and two four-day games.

For the upcoming tour, CA picked up an Indian-origin player Vishwa Ramkumar. The leg-spinner is a part of the 16-member squad. Ramkumar represents Victoria in age-group cricket and is associated with the Dandenong Cricket Club.

Talking about Australia Under-19 and India U-19 teams, then these two sides met at the 2024 Under-19 World Cup, where Australia beat India by 79 runs to win the tournament.

In recent times, Australia have relied on several Indian-origin players, particularly for sub-continent tours. Gurinder Sandhu and Tanveer Sangha are the two examples who have their origins in India and represent Australia.

Australian U19 Men’s Squad: Thomas Brown, Simon Budge, Zac Curtain, Riley Kingsell, Alex Lee-Young, Steven Hogan, Lincoln Hobbs, Harry Hoekstra, Christian Howe, Aidan O’Connor, Ollie Patterson, Ollie Peake, Vishwa Ramkumar, Lachlan Ranaldo, Hayden Schiller and Addison Sheriff.

Not just Australia, but several teams have had Indian-origin players play for them. New Zealand have Rachin Ravindra, the Netherlands have Aryan Dutt, and Vikramjeet Singh, and Keshav Maharaj for South Africa.
