The Champions Trophy 2025 is the next major ICC event that all the teams are preparing for. Pakistan will host the mega-event, which is why India's participation remains a suspense. 

Nonetheless, it is for the cricket boards to decide on the venue and how to conduct the tournament, but Gautam Gambhir and his management face the headache of pinning down the 15 best players for the Champions Trophy 2025.

One of the biggest challenges for Gambhir is that India will play only three ODIs before the Champions Trophy. Thus, it will be difficult for Gautam to select players on their match performance in ODIs.

Will KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer Find Places In India's Champions Trophy Squad?

Virat Kohli, who is struggling to score runs will be a key part of the squad, but doubts will be on KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer's place in the team. The two were disappointing in the ODIs against Sri Lanka and faces strong competition from Rishabh Pant and Riyan Parag. However, they will find the place in the squad but might be on the bench. 

Talking about Parag, he is likely to be a part of the 15-member list as he acts as an all-rounder and is impressed with his bowling on his ODI debut. 

Shivam Dube too can lose his place, as he was not impressive in the Sri Lanka ODI series. Also, Hardik Pandya would be back. However, it looks like Ravindra Jadeja might find it hard to return to the ODI set-up as Axar Patel has been impressive. 

In the bowling, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj will be the three key bowlers and Harshit Rana is expected to be the surprise element.
