County Championship | Match-Day 2, Day 4 | Daily Roundup

The final day's play in County Championship (Division One and Division Two) saw some enthralling contests between the teams. Cheteshwar Pujara and Sussex's skipper, Tom Haines, broke records and saved their team. On the other hand, Glamorgan chased down an easy but tricky target against Nottinghamshire.

Tom Haines and Cheteshwar Pujara score magnificent double-tons as Sussex saves the match after following-on

Sussex were in dire straits after a horrendous display with the bat in the first innings. On Day 3, captain Tom Haines and veteran Indian top-order batter Cheteshwar Pujara had pulled Sussex out of deep waters. And to everyone's surprise, the duo continued to showcase unflinching temperament on the final day.

Sussex still needed 53 runs at the start of the day's play to make Derbyshire bat again. However, the pitch was conducive to batting, and therefore, they needed to prolong their partnership.

Pujara, debuting for Sussex, and skipper Haines scored stunning double centuries. They secured a draw for their team after being asked to follow on. Haines (243) finally fell to Nick Potts after being involved in a stellar, record-breaking 351-run partnership. The two teams shook hands soon after Pujara reached the 200-run mark.
