Cricket fans were treated to an unexpected spectacle as Chris Gayle, the former West Indies captain, made a memorable appearance at the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 match in New York.

The match, held at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, drew attention even before the first ball was bowled due to Gayle’s striking attire.

Known as the "Universe Boss,"  Chris Gayle stepped onto the field wearing a bespoke blazer that instantly caught everyone’s eye. This special blazer featured the Indian tricolor on one sleeve and Pakistan’s green on the other, symbolizing the friendly rivalry and mutual respect between the two cricketing giants.

Before the rain-delayed toss, Gayle mingled with players from both teams, spreading cheer and excitement. He first approached the Indian side, greeting captain Rohit Sharma, star batter Virat Kohli, and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant with hugs and collecting their autographs.

He then turned his attention to the Pakistani players, embracing captain Babar Azam. The presence of legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh added to the star-studded affair.

As a brand ambassador for the T20 World Cup 2024, co-hosted by the USA and the Caribbean, Gayle’s appearance highlighted his enduring popularity and charisma. Alongside him, Yuvraj Singh and Shahid Afridi also serve as ambassadors for the event.
