Chetan Sakariya, Mukesh Choudhary set to play in T20 Max

The upcoming T20 Max competition in Brisbane will see the presence of the Indian Premier League (IPL) bowling duo Chetan Sakariya and Mukesh Choudhary, which begins on August 18.

Both players are part of an exchange program between the MRF Pace Academy and Cricket Australia (CA).

This program has been going on for the past 20 years but was on hold during the pandemic.

The bowling pair will also get to train at Bupa National Cricket Centre, apart from joining Queensland Bulls in their pre-season camp.

Sakariya, who played for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and is currently an active member of the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise, will represent the Sunshine Coast side.

Bhavnagar-born made his ODI and T20I debut for India in Sri Lanka in 2021.

The 24-year-old for Saurashtra has played 18 First-Class, 15 List-A, and 41 T20s, scalping 132 wickets overall. 

In 17 IPL games, he has as many wickets.

Choudhary, who made an impressive IPL debut with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) side last season, picking up 16 wickets from 13 T20s, is set to feature for Wynnum-Manly.

The Bhilwara-born plays for Maharashtra in domestic cricket. He has featured in 13 FC, 12 List-A, and 25 T20 games since 2017, with 87 wickets besides his name.



Apart from Sakariya and Choudhary, international players from Papua New Guinea (PNG) will also participate in Queensland's premier tournament. 

Norman Vanua, Chad Soper, and Charles Amini Jnr will play for the Sandgate-Redcliffe side.

The trio is coming straight from PNG's semi-final appearance in the ICC World T20 qualifiers B.
