In an unexpected twist of fate, Indian fast bowler T. Natarajan, who plays for Delhi Capitals in the IPL, was spotted training at the Chennai Super Kings academy. The rare sighting has sparked fresh trade buzz.
Natarajan was once reckoned as India’s promising left-arm pacer with significant speed and control over lengths. However, despite heroic efforts in the 2020/21 Border-Gavaskar series, he faded out of the scene due to recurring injuries.

However, Natarajan’s sighting in the CSK camp has sparked significant buzz in the IPL rumour market. For those unversed, the pacer is contracted with the Delhi Capitals. DC acquired him for INR 10.75 crores in the 2025 mega auction, but his chances were restricted owing to fitness issues.
Now, with the IPL trade window open, fans speculate that CSK might have a soft spot for Natarajan, as they need a quality fast bowler who is accustomed to local conditions.
However, given the money DC has spent on Natarajan, a possible trade proposal will not be as easy for CSK to get through with.
Natarajan Was Ignored By DC In IPL 2025
Interestingly, despite paying a high price to acquire his services in the mega auction, the Delhi Capitals allowed T. Natarajan to feature in only 2 games in IPL 2025. With DC missing the playoffs after a poor second-half run, questions surrounded the absence of the high-profile pacer.
Coach Hemang Badani, however, addressed it, clarifying during TNPL commentary that Natarajan wasn’t benched, he was injured. Bought for his death-over skills, Natarajan never recovered fully from injury, forcing DC to hold him back despite their playoff hopes dwindling.
