Sri Lanka have done the unthinkable. By defeating Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup 2022 by 23 runs, they will be taking the trophy home after a long wait of seven years. Sri Lanka’s redemption in the tournament has been nothing less than magical.

Following the loss against Afghanistan, the island nation defeated Bangladesh to qualify. The Super Four saw an absolute carnage by Sri Lanka as they defeated Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan to reach the final showdown. The 26-year-old hailed all the young guns for coming up with brilliant performances. The team didn’t have an ideal start in the final as they lost an important toss. However, it was coach Chris Silverwood who motivated the team to do wonders.
