In a phenomenal achievement, ace Indian spinner Varun Chakravarthy has claimed the top spot in the T20I bowlers' rankings. As per the ICC's latest update, Chakravarthy has dethroned New Zealand's Jacob Duffy, being promoted to the first position amid the Asia Cup. 

Asia Cup Performers Make Rapid Gains In ICC T20I Rankings

Varun Chakravarthy has been impressive with the ball in the Asia Cup, scalping two wickets at a healthy strike rate of 18 and an economy of 4.67. His exploits for the Indian team have helped Chakravarthy move three spots up to the first position in the ICC T20I rankings for bowlers. 

Meanwhile, Pakistan's stylish opener Saim Ayub has progressed by four spots to claim the joint number fifth slot alongside Roston Chase in the T20I all-rounders' rankings. Despite recording two consecutive ducks, Ayub has bagged five wickets in Pakistan's first two Asia Cup matches, earning a well-deserved promotion on the list. 

The swashbuckling English duo of Jos Buttler and Phil Salt have moved one spot each to the second and third spots, respectively, on the batters' list, with Abhishek Sharma still claiming the numero uno position with a career best rating of 884 points. 

Other Notable Movements In Latest ICC Rankings

Ace Sri Lankan speedster Nuwan Thushara has entered the top ten, gaining six places to finish the week as the sixth-ranked T20I bowler. On a similar note, Sufiyan Muqeem has moved four places up to the eleventh, while Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan has been demoted by one slot to the tenth on the bowlers' list. 

England's premier fast bowler Jofra Archer, who scalped three wickets in one match against South Africa, is also among the most notable gainers, moving to the 13th position. Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has jumped eleven spots to the 16th, while Kuldeep Yadav has leapt 16 places to finish the week as the 23rd-ranked T20I bowler.
