CAN appoints Rohit Paudel as Nepal's captain

Nepal batter Rohit Poudel has been named as the skipper of the men's national cricket team as he succeeds Sandeep Lamichhane, who has been charged with a rape case registered against him.
After Lamichanne was suspended by the national cricket governing body, Poudel led the side in ODI series versus Kenya as Nepal won the series by 3-0 under his captaincy.
Informing about the development, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) made an announcement on Twitter with a statement that read,
"Rohit Poudel has been appointed as the Captain of the Nepal Men's National Cricket Team."

All may not be hunky-dory for Poudel and Co. when they will host the United Arab Emirates, a side that was in contention for a Super 12 spot in the 2022 T20 World Cup, for a three-match ODI series. It will be the the first assignment for Poudel as Nepal's full-time captain.
The first game of the series is scheduled at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur on November 14.
