A sumptuous half-century knock from Bryony Smith followed by disciplined bowling meant Trent Rockets decimated the London Spirit by 18 runs in the 12th match of The Hundred Women 2022 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Saturday, August 20.

After being asked to take a strike first, Trent Rockets went on to post 142 for four in the first inning. In the second half of the game, their bowlers were right on the money from the word go as they restricted London to 124/6 to snap their two-match losing streak.

Chasing a paltry total of 143, London Spirit could never get the momentum they needed in the batting and kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Naomi Dattani (34-ball 38) and Amelia Kerr (19-ball 26) were the only batters who could go past the 15-run mark as London Spirit eventually fell 18 runs short of the target.

On the bowling front, Natalie Sciver got two wickets to her name while the likes of Katherine Brunt, Alana King, Bryony Smith, and Sarah Glenn got a brace each.
