Things are looking bright for Bihar cricket, as 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has raised the bar with his sensational batting in IPL 2025. Notably, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) star has put Bihar cricket on the national map with his scintillating performances in the cash-rich league.

In the latest development, another star is on the rise—13-year-old Ayan Raj has grabbed the internet’s attention after scoring a scintillating triple century in District League cricket.

Raj, representing Sanskriti Cricket Academy, played a 30-over match in which he smashed an unbeaten 327 runs off just 134 balls, including 41 fours and 22 sixes. His knock reminded fans of Vaibhav, who also rose to fame with similar innings in local leagues.

Ayan, a Close Friend of Vaibhav Suryavanshi

For the unversed, Ayan is a close friend of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, and the two share a strong bond. They have played a lot of cricket together, which explains the similarity in their batting styles. Ayan also draws inspiriation from his RR friend, as quoted by News18.

“Every time I talk to Vaibhav bhai, I get a special feeling. We used to play together when we were younger. Today, he has made a big name for himself, and I’m also following in his footsteps,” Ayan said.

Notably, Raj is following in the footsteps of his father, who was also a former cricketer but did not achieve major success.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Impact on Bihar Cricket and in IPL

Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his Ranji Trophy debut in 2023 at the age of 12, becoming the second-youngest debutant for Bihar in the tournament’s history.

He is also the youngest India A List A debutant and soon made his India debut, featuring in the 2024 U-19 Asia Cup. The southpaw’s moment of fame came in IPL 2025, when he got the opportunity to play for Rajasthan Royals.

In the recently concluded edition, he scored 252 runs in seven innings, including a century and a solitary fifty-plus score.
