Brett Lee, Jonty Rhodes, & Albie Morkel To Play in Legends League Cricket Season 2

After the success of the inaugural season of the Legends League Cricket, the organizers are back with the second edition of the tournament, which will kick off on September 20, 2022.  


A total of four privately owned franchises will feature in the professional cricket league for retired international cricketers, with the final of the tournament scheduled to be played on October 10, 2022. 


The likes of Virender Sehwag, the Pathan brothers, Muttiah Muralitharan, S Sreesanth, and Kevin O'Brien have already confirmed their participation in the upcoming T20 league. 


Meanwhile, former Australian legend Brett Lee and Proteas veterans Albie Morkel and Jonty Rhodes have now joined this bandwagon.  


Apart from the aforementioned trio, English fast bowling legend Liam Plunkett, Joginder Sharma, Sri Lankan duo Ajantha Mendis, and Dilhara Fernando will also mark their presence in the upcoming T20 tournament. 


The Co-founder and CEO of Legends League Cricket, Raman Raheja, welcomed the legends in the tournament's second edition, stating, "With these additions, our second season is becoming bolder and bigger. With great pleasure, we welcome them to the Legends family and look forward to witnessing their magic on the field at LLC Season 2."  


The inaugural edition of Legends League Cricket had seen several former cricketers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, and England retaking the field, which was nothing but a feast to the eyes for all the 2000-era cricket fans.  


The first season of Legends League Cricket also saw as many as three teams, India Maharajas, Asia Lions and World Giants, competing against each other. This year, the tournament will be expanded to four teams, with the additional team for the Legends League yet to be announced.


The former head coach of Team India, Ravi Shastri, has been the Commissioner of the Legends League Cricket tournament since last season. He is excited to see the legends again playing in the unique tournament. 


"The Carnival of Legends is back. Top cricketers from around the world will be seen coming together. These players have contributed immensely to cricket throughout their careers. I am looking forward to watching them play the Legends League Cricket second season," Ravi Shastri said.
