In an intense IPL 2025 clash, LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka was seen clapping on the fall of Lucknow finisher Abdul Samad’s wicket. He was watching the game with Punjab co-owner Ness Wadia, and the pictures of his brainfade moment went viral on social media.

Punjab Kings hosted Lucknow Super Giants in the 54th game of the IPL 2025 season at the Dharamsala Stadium. PBKS batted first, and Prabhsimran Singh’s 91 off 48 balls powered the host team to an enormous total of 236 runs.

While the chase was steep, LSG batters crumbled under pressure, losing 5 wickets for 73 runs on the board. Amid the intense clash, a rare moment involving Sanjeev Goenka went viral on social media.

Sanjeev Goenka Enjoys His Own Team’s Downfall?

In the midst of the high-pressure game, LSG and PBKS owners reunited in the stands of the Dharamsala Stadium. Sanjeev Goenka met Ness Wadia, and the duo watched the match together.

However, Lucknow boss Goenka was apparently captured clapping on LSG finisher Abul Samad’s wicket alongside Wadia, triggering a wave of speculation on social media. Fans trolled him for clapping on his own team’s misery.

That being said, LSG dug a hole of misery for themselves as they finished with 199/7, falling 37 runs short. Top-order batters Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, and Nicholas Pooran fell prey to Arshdeep Singh’s fiery spell, whereas Omarzai dismissed Rishabh Pant and Samad.

With that loss, LSG slipped to 7th position in the points table, whereas PBKS jumped to 2nd spot with 15 points in 11 games.
