In a high-octane IPL clash overshadowed by escalating India-Pakistan geopolitical tensions, Punjab Kings’ Nehal Wadhera and Delhi Capitals' KL Rahul dedicated their heroic knocks to the Indian Army.

Their emotional tributes post-victory resonated deeply, blending sport with patriotism as the duo highlighted the armed forces’ sacrifices during turbulent times.

Rahul, Wadhera's Powerful Salute to the Indian Army

Delhi Capitals' KL Rahul posted a blitzkrieg of 112 runs against GT on Sunday breaking many milestones and passionately dedicating the century to the Indian Army. On his Instagram story, Rahul wrote, "Thank You to out mighty armed forces. We are eternally grateful to you."

Nehal Wadhera, who played a valiant innings of 70 runs from PBKS' side on Sunday wholeheartedly gave up his stand as a tribute to the Indian army.

In an interaction, Wadhera shared, "Ye jo fifty hai mai Indian Armed Forces ko dedicate karta hoon. Kyuki unko bohot credit jata hai ki hum peacefully so paye aur kam kar payein. IPL unki wajah se hi continue hua hai. Unhone aur humari government of India ne bohot help ki hai ise continue karwane ke liye."

PBKS Seal Playoff Berth As DC Suffer Nightmare

Meanwhile, speaking of Punjab Kings, the 10-run triumph over Rajasthan Royals sealed their playoff berth. Wadhera (70 off 37) and Shashank (59* off 30) powered PBKS to 219/5, weathering a fiery RR start led by Yashasvi Jaiswal (50 off 21) before Harpreet Brar’s spin magic (3/22) clinched a thriller.

For KL Rahul though, his day didn't end in a fairytale despite his heroic century. Posting 199 first, DC thought of having a superior ground on the battlefield as GT came into the chase. However, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharasan's record-breaking chase turned the tables as the duo remained unbeaten and claimed a historic win over DC by 10 wickets.
