Bizarre Scenes In England- (X.com)
Bizarre scenes have happened in England, as a father-son duo in club cricket scored just four runs off 208 balls. Opener Ian Bestwick stole the limelight after he did not score a solitary run despite facing 171 deliveries. Meanwhile, Thomas Bestwick amassed just fours off 71 deliveries that too came courtesy of a boundary.
The bizarre scenes occurred during Mickleover 3rd XI vs Darley Abbey Cricket Club's 4th XI match, where the Mickleover posted 271/4 on the board.
In reply, Darley Abbey Cricket Club's 4th XI lost four early wickets, thus the father-son duo decided to go defensive and not play shots.
Only two of the six Darley batters got off the mark, but none of them went past the double-figure mark. Funnily, the top-scorer of the recently concluded game was extras (9).
Ian Bestwick Speaks On His Bizarre Feat
"It's gone round the world. It has been mentioned in Australia, Pakistan, and Qatar. I have had friend requests from around the globe," 48-year-old Ian Bestwick told BBC Radio Derby after the match.
The match ended in a draw, but Mickleover 3rd XI got more points due to game rules. Both of them, however, are languishing at the bottom half of the points table.
