As Will Jacks is set to leave, MI has roped up with English batter Jonny Bairstow. The English wicketkeeper-batter has officially joined the squad ahead of their next match, receiving a warm welcome from the franchise.

While batting first, the MI batters got a decent start, and Suryakumar Yadav’s half-century pushed MI towards a 187-run total.

While defending the total, the MI bowlers struggled in front of the PBKS batters. Amidst the struggle, Mitchell Santner and Jasprit Bumrah secured 3 wickets together while the other remained impactless. MI suffered a 7-wicket defeat, ending their hopes of reaching Qualifier 1. This loss pushed them into the eliminator round, eagerly waiting for their opposition.
