Mumbai Indians have received a significant boost ahead of their next fixture in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 season as star batsman Suryakumar Yadav returns to action. Yadav, who has been sidelined due to injuries since December last year, is set to make his comeback against the Delhi Capitals.

The right-handed batsman had been grappling with injuries, starting with an ankle injury sustained during the T20I series against South Africa. Following surgery for the ankle, SKY faced another setback with a sports hernia, leading to another surgery in January. 


Despite hopes of returning earlier, he faced delays due to fitness concerns, failing to receive clearance from the BCCI medical team ahead of IPL 2024.

However, after prolonged rehabilitation and fitness tests, Yadav has finally been given the green light to rejoin the Mumbai Indians squad. 

His return is eagerly anticipated, especially considering Mumbai's struggling start to the season, having lost all three matches so far and languishing at the bottom of the points table.

Yadav's inclusion injects much-needed firepower into the Mumbai Indians' batting lineup. Known for his aggressive stroke play and ability to stabilise the innings, his return is expected to bolster the team's chances of turning their fortunes around in the tournament.

Having last played a competitive match in December, where he showcased his prowess with a blistering century against South Africa, Yadav will be keen to make an impact in his comeback game against the Delhi Capitals.
