Pakistan's loss to the West Indies in the second ODI has hurt them in the latest ICC ODI Rankings. The Mohammad Rizwan-led team has now dropped to fifth place in the rankings, while Sri Lanka have moved up to fourth.

Pakistan, Bangladesh Suffer Setbacks Due To ODI Inconsistency

In the latest rankings update, Pakistan have 3465 points in 34 matches with a rating of 102. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have 4009 points with a rating of 103. The fall to number 5 shows Pakistan's inconsistency in the ODI format in recent times, while more consistent ones like India and New Zealand are at number 1 and 2, respectively.

Apart from Pakistan and Sri Lanka, two other teams have also swapped their positions in the rankings. Bangladesh have moved to number 10 after their ODI series loss to Sri Lanka recently, while West Indies, with a rating of 78, have moved to the number nine position.

Heavyweights South Africa, England In Bottom Half As Australia Eye 2nd Spot

Big teams like South Africa and England are also languishing in the bottom half of the top 10. The Proteas are at the number six position, while England are at the number eight position after their poor run of form in ODIs in the recent past.

Australia, the champions of the 2023 ODI World Cup, are in third position and have 109 rating points, 15 below the toppers, India. Australia though have the chance to move to the number two position as they will soon play a three-match ODI series against the Proteas at home.

Pakistan, on the other hand, will play the series decider of the three-match ODI series against the West Indies on August 12. India, however, would get a chance to play ODIs only in October, when they will tour Down Under for a three-match series.
